Bitcoin Piggy Bank Privacy Policy

        Watch-only by design. Bitcoin Piggy Bank never stores
        private keys, seed phrases, or spending ability. Parents add a public
        Bitcoin address only. The app cannot send or move funds.
      

Who this app is for

Bitcoin Piggy Bank helps families track Bitcoin savings goals for children. A parent or guardian sets up each piggy bank. Children can view balances and progress; sensitive actions can be protected with an optional parent PIN.

Information we collect

We do not operate accounts or collect personal information on our servers.

Data you enter in the app may include:

Child first name or nickname
Savings goal label (for example, “new bike”)
Public Bitcoin receive address (watch-only)
App preferences (display units, notification settings)
Deposit history derived from balance changes or public blockchain data
Optional parent PIN (stored as a one-way hash on device)
Optional SatsCard metadata (card identifier and slot) when imported over NFC

Where data is stored

On your device — profiles, settings, and history are saved locally using the device’s secure app storage.
iCloud backup (optional, iOS only) — if you turn on “Sync with iCloud” in Settings, a snapshot of profiles, preferences, deposit history, and the parent PIN hash may sync through Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Storage to other devices signed into the same Apple ID. We do not operate this sync; Apple provides the storage.
Home screen widget (optional, iOS) — a small summary (name, goal, balance) may be shared with the widget extension via an app group on your device.

Network requests

The app contacts public services to show balances and context:

mempool.space — public blockchain data for the Bitcoin address you entered (balance, optional deposit history)

These requests use only the public address you configured. No private keys or wallet credentials are transmitted.

Permissions

Camera — optional QR scanning when entering an address
NFC — optional SatsCard address import
Notifications — optional local alerts for deposits and goal milestones

Children’s privacy

The app does not create child accounts or collect data for advertising. Parents control setup and may enable a parent PIN for sensitive settings. We encourage parents to supervise use and manage any Bitcoin wallets separately.

Data retention and deletion

Remove piggy banks or use “Reset all piggy banks” in Settings to delete local data. Disabling iCloud sync stops new uploads; remove the app or manage iCloud storage in iOS Settings to clear cloud copies.

Security

Because the app is watch-only, loss of a device does not expose spending keys through this app. Optional iCloud data is protected by your Apple ID; treat your parent PIN like any device passcode.

We may update this policy as the app changes. The “Last updated” date above will reflect the latest version.
